I don't usually listen to this type of music but it was very catchy and such a great time! I really wish some of these tracks had more melody to them than just the first couple of lines, though - Rainbow Road and Gusty Garden Galaxy suffered because of this. That being said, Deep Castle was absolutely perfect - brilliant in every way! Well done!
Favorite track: Deep Castle.

I found myself in a synth trance some years ago. Everything started with stumbling across soundtracks from video games of my youth. TODAY I am so excited to find this album, with a name like Yoko Shimomura, praised for her work. I enjoy my vinyl, thank you :)
Favorite track: Steam Gardens.
Mario & Chill explores the rich musical history of Nintendo's Super Mario video game series through the lens of 80s and 90s electronica. Inspired by the era when Mario first hit the scene, Mario & Chill was produced with synthesizers, guitars, and retro drum machines all akin to the era. Created by Helynt, a Synthwave producer from Italy, the album is an emotive and nostalgic trip through video game music history.
From the 8-bit days of the original Super Mario Bros, to the expansive world of Super Mario Odyssey, Mario & Chill features 12 distinct themes re-imagined as progressive retrowave. The tracklist features fan favorites like Rainbow Road, Dire Dire Docks, and Rosalina's Observatory, alongside deep cuts like Deep Castle, Piranha Plant Lullaby, and the Super Mario 64 Staff Roll.
Games featured include Mario Kart, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario & Luigi, Mario Galaxy, and Mario Odyssey. Composers include Koji Kondo, Kenta Negata, Satomi Terui, Naoto Kubo, Mahito Yokata, and Yoko Shimomura.
